The purpose of providing an EPC during the sale or renting process is to enable potential buyers or tenants to consider the energy performance of a building as part of their investment.

Retrofit Assessments

The Retrofit assessment is a more in-depth and highly detailed survey compared to your EPC. The Survey will look at an array of areas from construction of the property to the ventilation of the home.  The process takes the whole house, with a Fabric First approach.  This means that it aims to reduce the demand for heat and power as much as possible by adding/improving insulation and the airtightness of the property. The information gathered from this assessment can be used to implement improvements to your home.

Stock Condition Survey

A stock condition survey is a visual inspection of the inside and outside of your home; it takes around 30 minutes. The surveyor will collect information on the condition of your home, looking specifically at two areas:

• Stock condition – the surveyor will assess the age and condition of major elements in your home such as the kitchen, bathroom, windows and doors.

• Energy survey – the surveyor will carry out an energy survey, collecting information on features which allow us to calculate how energy efficient your home is.

This survey does not collect information on any outstanding repairs to your home.
